Cuban Volleyball Team to Argentina

HAVANA TIMES – The majority of the 20-member Cuban men’s volleyball squad on the roster for upcoming XXIV FIVB World Volleyball League, scheduled from May 31 to July 21, will travel to Buenos Aires next Saturday, JIT Online reported.

The 12-members of the Cuban team will play four tune-up games at the annual tournament in Mar del Plata, three games against the Argentine national team and one against their B-Team.

The Cubans include auxiliary attackers Rolando Cepeda, Lazarus and Abraham Fundora Alfonso, the opposite side spiker Yordan Bisset, the central players Mesa Isbel, David Faithful, Danger Quintana and Livan Osoria; set up artists Lian Sem Estrada and Leandro Macias, and receivers Keibel Gutierrez and Gustavo Leyva.

In the upcoming World League; Argentina will play Group A along with Brazil, Poland, United States, Bulgaria and France, while Cuba appears in Group B, formed by Russia, Italy, Serbia, Germany and Iran. Group C is comprised by Canada, South Korea, Finland, Holland, Japan and Portugal.
