Cuban Hospitals to Reduce Visits Due to Cholera and Dengue

HAVANA TIMES — Cuban hospitals will dramatically reduce visiting hours and limit those people accompanying patients in the wake of increases in infectious diseases such as cholera and dengue, reported the Cafe Fuerte website.

According to the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), institutions with admitting rooms and inpatients will have visiting hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-6 pm, on Saturdays from 2-3 pm, and two hours on Sundays, from 2-4 pm

Official media announced the decision this past Thursday, which had been previously communicated in a television news report on January 4, though the measure won’t take effect until January 30.
