Cuba Gets 5th Gold as Ramirez Wins Bout

HAVANA TIMES — Cuba obtained it’s fifth gold medal at the London Olympics as 18-year-old flyweight Robeisy Ramirez defeated his Mongolian opponent Tugstsogt Nyambayar in a close 17-14 bout.

With the curtain about to fall on the 2012 Olympics, Cuba finished with five gold medals, three silver and six bronze, and placed 15th place among the competing nations.

The gold medals came in shooting, judo, wrestling and boxing (2).

Of the other Latin American and Caribbean countries, Jamaica finished 18th place and Brazil 22nd.
