HAVANA TIMES — Ciego de Avila is one game away from winning their first Cuban baseball championship after bombarding Industriales 10-2 on Sunday on four home runs, two by Rusney Castillo who also drove in four runs.

Osmar Carrero pitched a brilliant eight innings to get the win, allowing the two Industriales runs on eight hits.

The other two Ciego homers came from Raul Gonzalez and Issac Martinez. Yorelvis Charles added three RBIs on four hits including two doubles in the 16-hit attack.

Industriales starter Frank Monthiet took the loss, allowing three runs (all solo homers) on six hits in 4.2 innings.

Yadir Rabi pitched the ninth for Ciego, while Industriales used five relievers after the exit of Monthiet.

Game five is set for Monday night, also in Ciego de Avila.  The game is do-or-die for Industriales, who, down three games to one, need a win to take the best-of-seven series back home to Havana for a game six.

Prensa Latina said that the possible starters on Monday are Yander Guevara, who relieved on Saturday, for Ciego and Antonio Romero for Industriales.
