Ahmadinejad Meets with Fidel Castro

HAVANA TIMES, Jan 12 — Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ended his official visit to Cuba today after meeting with former Cuban President Fidel Castro, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.

After telling reporters that relations between Cuba and the Persian nation were excellent, Ahmadinejad was seen off from the capital by his counterpart, President Raul Castro, with whom he held talks with last night.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to defending the right of all states to the peaceful use of nuclear energy, and reaffirmed their opposition to unilateral economic sanctions, highlighted the note.
