Oncology Workshop Concludes in Cuba

HAVANA TIMES, Dec. 4 — Scientists and Cuban academics exchanged information for three days concerning the island’s progress in the treatment of cancer. The meetings were held at the Molecular Immunology Center in the Cuban capital.

Discussed were therapeutic advances in using drugs against cancer and the side effects of these treatments, as well as the positive impact of Cuban biotechnology being applied in various locations in the body where malignant tumors are found.

During this Sixth Workshop, assessments were made of actions taken by the national oncology program and the outcomes of a Brazil-Cuba cooperation initiative were presented.
