Havana Film Festival Day 3 Tributes

HAVANA TIMES, Dec. 3 — At the Havana film festival today, several tributes were made to artists associated with the seventh art. Among them were the Nobel laureate for Literature Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

Also to be recognized is Alfredo Guevara, the president of the annual Havana film event; and the late actor Adolfo Llaurado, who is considered one of the most important faces of the big screen and stage in Cuba.

Films from the island that debuted today were Marina, by Enrique Alvarez; and Habanastation, by the young director Ian Padron. The latter movie is one of the most attended Cuban films in recent times and is being plugged for an Oscar nomination by Cuban film fans.
