HAVANA TIMES, Feb. 14 — It was like old times; the Bolshoi Ballet performed Saturday in Cuba after a 30-year absence.  The by-special-invitation audience filled the 5,000 seat Karl Marx Theater and photographer Jorge Luis offers Havana Times readers his up front view of the event.

The occasion for the return visit of the Bolshoi is this year’s Cuba International Book Fair where Russia is the guest of honor.  In all, some 200 Russian artists, authors and publishers are on hand in Havana.

While nothing like the days of the Soviet Union, Russia-Cuba trade and cooperation was given a new boost in recent years.  Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke at the opening of the Book Fair on Thursday attended by Cuban President Raul Castro.
