Cuba-Venezuela Sign Major Accords

HAVANA TIMES, Dec. 12 – Cuba and Venezuela signed 285 collaboration projects worth US $3.18 billion, it was announced today during the tenth Joint Commission between the two nations, being held in Havana prior to the December 13-14 summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) reported IPS.

  • Socialism first and foremost has to be about teamwork, equality and equitableness — at any scale it is practiced on. The larger the scale, however — the newer a phenomenon it is to this World; which has seen 10.000 years of brutal, narrow-minded and selfish struggle over “scarce” resources. Even under “really-existing socialism” in the last century, intra-bloc trade was as much about exploitation as on the other side of the “Iron Curtain”, AFAIK. Certainly many east-europeans think so. So whatever example ALBA sets for the World as an example of the proper way to conduct socialist business can and will have an effect far beyond the “dollar” value of the transactions undertaken here.
