By Circles Robinson

HAVANA TIMES, Oct.4 — Parts of Eastern Cuba Shook from a 5.1 Richter Scale earthquake on Monday morning, with no reports so far of damage or injuries.

Venceremos newspaper online reported from Guantanamo that people took to the streets when the tremor was felt at 7:48 a.m.

The quake had its epicenter 15 miles underground near Cazonal beach in Santiago de Cuba province (500 miles east of Havana).

It was felt in parts of both Guantanamo and Santiago de Cuba provinces as well as on the US Navy Base at Guantanamo Bay, a piece of occupied Cuban territory where Washington also houses prisoners for years without charges or trial.

Light to moderate seismic activity in eastern Cuba is not uncommon.

I would like to assist in providing an open dialogue with the Cuban press if this is possible.
I believe that journalist gain strength through truth, and I would like to facilitate the truth.
Let us, you and I forget politics and try to reveal truth.
