HAVANA TIMES, Feb. 22 — With the arrival of spring, the Chinese celebrate the beginning of the lunar year, which this year is associated with the tiger, as the current animal sign in the zodiac of the Chinese lunisolar calendar.

In Cuba, this is a tradition that has been maintained by many people of Chinese ancestry.

On Saturday night, February 13, Old Havana’s Plaza Vieja was the setting for a gala performance by different schools of Chinese martial arts on the island.

One could appreciate people of all ages demonstrating their knowledge of the martial arts with tremendous skill and dexterity.
