  • Ah, give dutiful Diaz-Canal a break will ya? He’s been sent by his boss to check in on the Castro Corp branch plant, otherwise known as Venezuela. They have to make sure their local franchise manager, Nicki Maduro, is still running the show properly and keeping that vital oil flowing to Cuba.

  • Obviously celebrating the birthday of the deceased Hugo Chavez is going to join the ever growing list of Socialist matters of significance in their international Calender. Let us hope that attention will be drawn to the “success” of Chavez’ economic policies by which he achieved an average annual rate of inflation of 26.9%, Health expenditure of 4.9% of GDP and education at 3.7% of GDP. (US equivalents are 17.9% and 5.5%). Perhaps there will be celebration of the defeat of the “fascist plot” in Aruba, when a drunken visitor from Venezuela drove his car in to the front of the Venezuelan Embassy. No doubt the Cuban delegation will be able to enjoy the hospitality of Nicholas Maduro and help him to plan future economic successes similar to those of his predecessor.
The dreams of Socialismo become the nightmarers of reality!!
