Cuba Wins Wrestling Events at Mexican Sports Festival

HAVANA TIMES – With five gold medals, Cuba was crowned champion in the category of wrestling continental sports festival that continues today in the capital of the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico, reported Prensa Latina.

The winners were the Cuban Olympic champion in the 130 kg division, Mijaín López, Pablo Shorey (85), Ismael Borrero (59), Miguel Martinez (66), Yasmani Lugo (98), while Julio Bastida (75) finished third.

Cuba finished first in the Greco-Roman style, with its five gold medals and one bronze, ahead of USA (2-2-3) and Venezuela (1-1-2).

These victories also represent the same number of tickets to the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada.
